I have been a musician for over 10 years. I began by playing the drums in 1995. Then, in January of 2004, I decided to pick up a guitar. Then, in April 2007, I began to play a didjeridoo for fun. As of August 2008, I put the 6-string guitar down (maybe for good) and picked up the 4-string bass guitar. Eventually, I would like to expand a little more to the piano (in progress). I also write and produce scripturally inspired music. I have 2 CDs worth of music and I’m in the process of producing the 3rd. God has truly blessed me with my musical abilities and I plan to continually worship Him and serve Him with those abilities.
Spending time reading the Word of God is always a pleasurable experience. I have read the Bible five times through and I am now on round six.
There is always a good laugh while reading Calvin & Hobbes comics.
Video games are a great way for me to turn my mind off for a bit (action, adventure, RPG, FPS, and the like). I also like computers. Especially Apple computers or anything produced by the folks at Apple Inc. I enjoy technical writing, which is how this blog stuff started with me. Pretty much, you could call me a nerd…… or more technically, a techaholic.
I am Czech by heritage. My last name, which is Masopust, has a rather peculiar meaning. It is made of two key words maso, which means meat, and pust, which means fasting, and both are significant to the meaning. Put them together and you have “meat fasting.” Masopust actually has a word for itself and that is carnival. It gets better. Now, with all that said, you could easily make up a statement about my last name. Meat fasting carnival. Think really hard. What holiday can you think of that is a meat fasting carnival? How about Mardi Gras? It’s true. My last name, Masopust, is actually a Czech holiday for Mardi Gras. That’s pretty cool.
Remember me saying that I was a drummer at the top of the page? Well, it so happens that my family has a bit of a legacy. The family has a polka band that can be traced back to 1890. So that puts the band at over 115 years old! I just happen to be the 5th generation to be in the band. My father is the 4th. We are aptly named the Masopust Polka Band. We play at weddings, anniversaries, festivals, and at a regular Saturday night dance.
Well, I hope you enjoy what you read. Constructive feedback is always welcome.

hey, you have accomplished something I am still struggling with, reading my Bible. I love reading it but I never seem to keep it up, other things always get in the way. If you have any advice or suggestions let me know. Thanks and God bless.
Hey thanks for responding, I really appreciate it. Thanks for the complement you put on my history page. It’s only half the story, I am planning on finishing it still and putting it on another page. One day I hope to put it into book form but this will do for now. We’ll see where God takes me.
I don’t know if I’m making sense here but here goes, I do live in Canada but originally I am from Mexico. I was born in Mexico and moved to Canada in late 1996. Where are you from?
Masopust? Play at the Czech Hall? I played a couple of gigs with you guys back in the nineties as your substitute tuba player. I always wondered if the band was still together. And it TOTALLY is! Sweet!
I am just learning to blog here and if you have any sites that i could go to to help teach me that would be great. I too am a christian and do sound at my local church. I am a techy to the core as well. Hey listen do me a favour and try and get to hear an artist named Martyn Joseph. He is an amazingly talented acoustic guitar player and balladeer. He is a christian but he rarely plays in churches because he is reaching the world where they are. His songs are filled with passion and you can see how God has inspired him to write . Go to http://www.martynjoseph.com and check him out i know you will like him
My last name is Masopust too, could we be related ? where are you from?
