The name of the blog comes from a quote by C-3PO in the movie, Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope…
“We’ll be sent to the Spice Mines of Kessel, smashed into who-knows-what!”
However, unlike the original Kessel, this blog is not known for “…dreaded mines, hard labor correctional facilities where convicts are often sent to extract valuable spice from the rock.”
Yeah… There’s none of that here…
The name also has a personal touch for me. When I am working on something and it isn’t going to plan, I am usually heard yelling, “Send it to the Spice Mines of Kessel!” Odd… I know.
